Ingredients:


2 cups besan (chickpea flour)

2 tablespoons semolina (sooji)

1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)

1/4 teaspoon ajwain seeds (carom seeds)

1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Salt to taste

For tempering:


1 tablespoon oil

1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds (rai)

1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds (til)

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

1/4 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)

Instructions:


In a mixing bowl, add besan, semolina, turmeric powder, ajwain seeds, cumin seeds, baking soda, salt, and oil. Mix well.

Gradually add water and knead a stiff dough.

Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into a small disc shape.

Using a knife, make 2-3 cuts in the center of the disc. This will help in frying the fafda evenly.

Heat oil in a frying pan on medium heat.

Gently slide the prepared fafdas into the hot oil and fry them until they turn golden brown in color.
